So as jesus did at easter lildavefish is back from the dead!

Seems that over the last 3 weeks i have completely lost my head! drinking far too much and ridic too much time on my own in casinos has led to me going mental!

after a week off i can confirm (lol) that lildavefish is back in business !

tuns out im an online poker degen! but unfortunatley january’s disaster and the lack of playing has meant tht lildavefish is SKINT, i had decent rooll on there but needed £££ for som eIRL things  so lost focus rele but now i am back and as determined as EVER!

played 6,400 hands of 6max NL betwen .10/.25 and .50/1 this week playing 12-15 tables and its been going well! not used to playing so many tables for a long time but soon back into the swing of it! 6max NL at these stakes is SO SOFT it is ridiculous and there is still decent-ish money to be made mass tabling 25nl.

so the plan is to keep a mixture of 6max PLO/NLHE whilst really really work on my HU games (both nl  and  plo) i feel like i have a very strong hu game, but definatley some exploitables which il be lloking to iron out – another thing iv started to do a ton of is pay these HU shootout MTTs. just thr $5-$50 ones as they are very very easy as ur not even playing for half the time so dont need to concentrate hardly at all – plus the valeu is excellent, e.g the 9.30 nl hu one gets anout $2k ftw off a $26 investment v much worth playing

so plan for this week involves a ton of 6max NL  a hefty HUplo volume and throw in some NL hu aswell. also play a decent amoutn of HU Sng’s and Hu MTTs to really really sharpen my HU game further.

In TOURNAMENT NEWS i actually have something to report, on monday i made a fin..ninal….finnal..FINAL! yes final table of one of those tilting $26 ntts on ftp (terrific value those tourneys btw) where i wenton to the ft 4/9 before QQ into AA v early then lost a flip gg me out in 8th for $681 with $7k ftw very veyr sigh….but still a very please $650 boost to ny re-building fund! ty to Ash, simon and Jamies for thier help during tht tourney btw – as liltournamentfish chumped his way to the final…also came 2nd in a HU shootout for oer $500 aswel on the same day was DEVd not to win tht cos the last guy was the worst of the lot!

NOW. lets breifly recoutn SUNDAY. SUNDAY was quite a day, as u may or may not know the online poker world was buzzing on sunday for the nets biggest and greatest tournament…the sunday…FOUR MILLION! ! ! ye pstars gtd this weeks million at $4,000,000 and promised a $1m+ top prize! this combined with the FTOPS main event, the 6max NLHE KO mtt (mwah) and the FTOPS id been so looking forward to for so long – THE HU PLO FTOPS ! ! ! had a semi deep run in the 6max till QQ met KK  and cudnt sedice the cowboys – gg me! Managed to get itm in the PLO ftops HU. for obv reasons as a reg playng HU plo on ftp i reaally wanted to win this as the field was full of fellowregs and wud be fantastic for the ego!  as it happened i put a really gd performance in and unfortuanly ran into a pretty tricky spot that i think in relection i think may have made a mistake…will put some hands up fro the tourney cos they are some cool ones!

so felt like a bit of a douche following my foul mouthed rant on saturday night. Felt the need to explain

If any of you read/post on the 2+2 forums ul see me about a fair bit in the small/mid stakes PLO forum. About 4 days a poster called CZI posted a pretty rude reposte to one of my posts and i was a little offended so replied but in genuinly well mannered way – then unfortunatly his reply to this was very obnoxious and even more unfortunatley i was VERY drunk and VERY annoyed when i read it – and he was online at the time….

What resulted was a really unpleasant war of words between us on 2+2 which has subsequently found the thread removed of the forums and me banned for 2 weeks … then rage spilled over into my blog siorry to force you guys into reading that arrogant self obbsessive drival !

Anyway not really proud of any of that behaviour as generally i am extremely well mannered in all poker endevour but a few life pressures got to me there.

So plan is now to take a decent break – this year hasn’t gone outstanding, iv run terribly and havnt even played great for the whole yr either BUT iv had a ton of outside poker things going on and that has really afffected me, so im taking a reasaonble hietus untill iv resolved these things. What im gonna do IDK and unfortunatley due to some unfortunate personal stuff  im not quite as healthy in the £££ departtment as id like – maybe il even get a real job for a bit and go travelling i really dont know – i doubt il be going to las vegas for the summer now after all this and you certainly wont see lildavefish on FTPs felt for a while, with the exception of possibly this sunday for the PLO HU FTOPS which il be playing as an enthusiastic ametaeur.

The last 6 months have been a lot of fun and its a shame that real life hasnt gone as well as poker has, and major kudos to Jamie and Ash for all their hard work and achievements. Also the support i had from them over last yr has been incredible and I am really proud of how well they have done/are doing…same applies to a lot of poker friends of mine actually who have offered a lot of support – Chrispoker23/Rob/Will/Franky/Middy wudnt have made half the £ without their help. TY GUYS

First thing to do is congratulate a friend of ours Jake Cody on a STUNNING ept daueville win for 847,00EUR (£749k/$1.19m) not only is this a siiick result but his performance on the final table was epic and will defo be ranked as one of the best final performances we’ve seen in a mojor tourney for a long time. WP cody you rich lil fker!

Not the only greta piece of news for the weekend either as Jamie managed 3rd in GUKPT bolton for £19k – again another rele gd final table performance in a BRUTAL seat draw jamie sykes of early 2009 wud have bustoed 8th lol but this jamie sykes is gonna win a lot on money this yr IMHO – EPT COPENHAGEN1time?

makes me kinda pround seeing my mates doing so well when you think back to the two lil geeky kids playing at the nutz a yr or two back are now competing with the best players and winning – just goes to show all it takes is HARD WORK and a BIT OF GAMBOOOLE

so we registered a loosing month on FTP by for $4029.

Luckily not all terrible as I managed +$1031 on cake and +£2k playing live at gala cash game and got about $1.4k rakeback for the month so could have been worse.

Played a great session at gala last night. Got to 6handed and I had a great seat so was really really in my element with all the stacks deep.

Its semi-tricky because my hand obviously plays terribly multi-way, spesh OOP. also its very hard for me to get the £££ in with tons of equity (i.e no1 shoves back AJ etc) I had seen the nit limp QQ behind a 3bet once before and the tilting shortstack could have anything rele as he was chasing pretty hard. Also Chris is so deep with me that obviously i cant get it in VS him and he doesnt really 3bet THAT much either so I have to give him credit for a strong hand.

Peeling the raise despite the fact im getting nearly 4-1 sucks imo because my hand plays terrible and im looking relaly to flop an A/Q and then it coudl still get messy vs Chris. However the desicion is made easier for me when the spewy player to my left callls out of turn and his call is forced to stay in the pot, now there is £140ish in the pot and I now know that spewy one wont shove. I can happilly call of the all-in from the shortstack and the nit is so likely to fold. so really it boils down to what range of hands CHRIS a) HAS, and b) will5bet shove/peel with. getting peeled in this spot is horribel so i have to price out any marginal calls. I think this deep chris’ calling/5bet shoving range is exclusivly thin, say QQ+ and possibly AKs in fact probs defo AKs vs me cos he knows I can 4bet for value with stuff like QQ/JJ. anyway they all fold, but turning ur hand into a 4bet bluff essentially is a highly +EV play here because of how far ahead of shortstackers range I am + all the dead money in the pot. obv I fold to shoves from Chris and NIT and if the spewy guy shoves which would be mega leveling since he called out of turn then i probs just sigh call it off.

Vs a very competant opponent this move would probably not work because I polorise my hand completly on the end to BLUFF or 9x. someone smart would proabbly figure out its a bluff more often than a 9x because not too many 9x’s in my range 3barrel 3 streets – altho vs beter play a better line is to c/back flop then pot or raise the turn. Anyway i had his range here exclusivley as Jx and he is a calling station so overbet was the best way off this hand. I was satisifed this was a profitable move because I dont think he has a9 ever here and he call off 1/2 pair so infrequently. OBV i reveak the bvluff fo future levelling lol….]=and i didnt have to wait long!

Most hands online lately have been pretty brutal and un-interesting so will do some hand analysis of some interesting ones when and if they ever come up!

On IRL news finnally sold my % in one of those fish and chips shops got gd price so hopefully have that money soon b4 i go skint again!

My oil 1p shares are flying up and down and making me fuck all money CMON oil 1TIME!!!!!!!!! Been out for a ton of great meals lately and enjoyed a nice run in the dinner flips only loosing 1/5 and a pretty tame £77 one when i lost it! went for thai for the first time with rob the other day and it was really really nice, cant remember the name of the place but will try! Rob claimed in the last dinnner flip that he thinks “seasoned gamblers” have a minor EV edge in a coin flip on just gut insticnt (???) so he claimed that by having the coin waiting on the thumb to flip, then after iv called reversing it neatrilises this edge and tips it slightly in the flippers favour…this was immeadiatly proved as i called for tails and afgter reversal it lands heads. Now whether this is true or not he has created some pre=flip levelling wars where he might try to level me into backing against my instinct in a flip and not reversing the coin – or i might expect him to and go with instinct anyway, but then he might expect me to that and till reverse it….or maybe its just a fkin cionflip but hey its all fun!

On this subject going out for a nice meal now with an old friend so wish you all GL and gonna try coe to the club with Jamie 2mro for the £10triple!

OK, so I’m going to post the whole thing when I get home, and I’ll blog about the PCA too, but for now, just thought I’d let you all know that I’m 3/10 on the final table of the £1k Main Event, eagerly awaiting the start.

been grinding pretty hard of late in my new “prosperous living” policy” – this policy basically involves

1) Drinking WAY WAY less and going out once/twice a week MAXIMUM

2) Eating healthier

3) Having a consistent sleep pattern

4) making SHITLOADS of money

So far mixed results – my sleeping pattern is improved altho i now sleep 6am – 2/4pm and live all night which is a bit shit, im eating a bit healthier bought some fruit and have only had 2 takeaways this year! NOT BEEN OUT ONCE this year wiiiiiiiiii so thts going to plan, and finally number 4….

you can probably see where the clintons trousers metaphor comes in! as you can see 14,000 hands in was looking like I might be on to kick start the year with a $10k month, but hands 15,000-20.000 seem to have ruined that expectation for the time being! this has been a pretty upsetting downswing but luckily it happened so fast that I barely noticed it lol and following 6 straight loosing sessions totaling nearly $5,000 i have since returned to the land of $0.50/$1 and have since regained about $1100 of it.

its kinda tough but HU plo is notoriously high varience lol and swings such as this are just gonna happen – and after all as bad for business as clinton’s trouser antics were – HE HAD A TON OF FUN! probably il stay off the cigars though!

other news aside i have been railing tom mac, jamie, jake and rob out in the bahamas, dunno if i mentioned this in my last blog but rob’s report of his PCA main event antics are hilarious. following a open from a wide opener, and a 3bet from someone young, a 4bet from a scandi and a 5bet from another young agro internet kid Rob looks down at 94offsuit and fins a 6bet shove !!!! such an AWESOME MOVE – however its awesomeness is eclipsed by the scandi having KK and failing to believe rob has AA lol – a scandi 4bets and somehow has KK – rob ran baaaaad lol so ye that was pretty cool i know of VERY few people in the world who cold 6bet 94offsuit in a $10k event but rob is definatly one of them!

Was awesome to see everyone on boxing day for the £5 I had a lot of fun…would have liked to have won that but o well sigh wpwp everyone all the same!

so i have done literally NOTHING for the past few weeks since my mega grind period (over 10k hands of .25/.50 huPLO in a week!), so i went out and got drunk a bit, took some time off over christmas and here i am now fresh still recovering from eating too much and drinking FAR FAR too much red wine ! Back to the grind it is!

First a few comedy tales of run bads for you all!

this is horrific is this one! so I go down to DTD for the monte carlo i dnot play the £1k or even any of the sideys cba rail middy and brent who go deep ish middy busts 40-something AK into AA ul ul, then Brent finishes on the ACTUAL BUBBLE 28/with 27 paid A7 vs A4 when he hits not one but TWO fours mega sigh….ul BH ul…

playing some 2/2 PLO find myself loosing a bit, rebuy for dbl stack £400 now im in the game for £1k and grind and grind away until i am sat like £1.4k ish deep – when they annouce last 3 hands – at this point im delighted because im out of the hole + have some profit….untill nick hicks (who is pissed never plays PLO and potting everhand and sat about 2k deep) pots from the c/off and i peel the BB with A Qs Js 9 – only to find myself on a Ks 10s 8 baord lol – we obv get the whole stack in vs AJ64 with the A64 spades….board rolls out K 6 and the dealer announces tht AQ high wins and starts moving me the money until nick goriously announces he has a 6 and scoops the whole £3k….FUCK MY LIFE…to make things worse rob is sat next to me asking me if i need a tray for “all my chips” and then i get gunned doing 100mph on the motorway and that looks like GG drivers liscence – a distinctly poor 12 hours of my life LOL

so more live poker is what i need lol – still down at gala following NAPOLEONS horror run doing ok but MAN ALIVE that game is so tilting, i got chatting one night to the guy there wheni was pretty drunk and said that if they put me in charge of the game for 2weeks and put 30% extra on the rake…he sed i cud try but then i dont rele wanna get involved i dont think might annoy Faz…i dunno i might not be able to anyway but I know wat needs to be done to sort it thats for sure! + with my contacts i reckon i could make an AMAZING GAME there, might see if they’ll let me do it on Tuesdays and Wednesdays lol…so i think im a bit down from live pokers last 2 weeks mainly from that stupid dealers choice game where i was comfortably better than everyone else but consisted to run like monkey shit! the only hand i won of any interest was a badugi hand vs my very good friend chris walker where I open thinking we’re playing omaha hi/lo and after trying to buy my way out of my mistake i end up making the effective nuts and gg’d chris in the process. sorry chris shame as he waas the only other member of the table that made the game remotley bearable!!  then playing PLO i open 789J dbl and get 3bet by some deep stacked donkey – im deep aswel so elect to min 4bet – my reasons behind this were if he has AAxx he pots back and i can happily peel the 5bet 400bb deep, + he is now going to peel most of his QQxx KKxx and rundown hands, meaning i can legitimatly rep aces +/or shaft him if i hit the flop hard….he peels…flop rolls off JJ7 which was a rather nice flop for me, i lead he shoves i call he has KK88 turns a K gg life and another £800 horror beat from 2009 live poker! i love life.

so tht was me done for live poker for the year LOL so back to the online grind, after my hard work iv now moved up to 1/2 again and put some seious volume in – I would love to be able to put some graphs up (so u can lol ayt the swingyness!!) but firstly i cant open holdem manager atm for whatever reason lol and if i did they wudnt let me upload on here!!! o well, unnecessary brag anyway probs! played roughly 8,500 hands this week on ftp and about 2k on cake. cake poker i both love and hate, firstly i LOVE it cos i won loads of money, i hate it because they take 45years to let you withdraw monies and i hate it because despite spinning the remaining 1k in the account up to about 2.8k we now have about zero dollars on cake….sigh. full tilt has been kind to me lately, lildavefish is finnally recognized as a winning PLO layer – they onyl recently started tracking it just as i came into a 4k downswing nice life full tilt. played about 8,500 hands as ai said which is kinda heavy going HU and its been very gd up about 16buyins which i can live with – both today and yesterday saw me hit $1600 holes before getting out! yesterday i turned it around and managed to win $400! and today im currently taking a break about $8 up lol kinda a wasted afternoon LOL 1,140 hands later – that’s $0.007 per hand profit and about $2 an hour – but hey least im not gonna pay tax on it!

Other news i bought a new monitor the other day and its the absolute DOG BOLLOCKS, 23″  TONS of resolution, TV aswel, on its own lil stand i absolutly love it LOL also my shares have recovered from a 0.75p slump to be going strong at peak of 1.3p as we speak! i could sell now and ACTUALLY MAKE SOME PROFIT mbn….not much mind, but still ! Rob the sicko elects to get himself in super deep with these shares got a bit carried away and ended up with over £20,000’s worth MBN…

sorry no blog for  a while iv been working very very hard – but this is good news blog primarily!!!

So was in a bit of a hole last 6-8 weeks so grinded my little arse off for 2.5 weeks and kinda got out wiiiiiiiiiiiii (N,B GOT OUT – not made any money lol) anyyway so been getting slowly back to winning ways paid a few debts off getting back sorted lovely lovely pokers seems to be working again!!

Been devoting some time to tournaments lately – firstly I am a very very good tounrmament player and despite a string of end game failures no-one can tell me different lol !!! – i just choose not to play that many cos there is more reliable money to made from cash games PLUS im sure i run so far below where i should in late game tourneys that its so deflating lol ! thus far in my quest to win a tourney we are probs a few hundred down SIGH had some epic nearly runs tho and will keep on and on at it! on this note just got off from a sunday session where i went deep in nothing except the mulligan where we decide to get it in KKvsQQ and loose for the entire world and shortly exited just before the money….gotta love tourneys!!! As a tickling little side note got a prop bet with middy that il OUTRIGHT win 1 in my next 100 46+ mtts online…no big bucks on it just a little teaser!

played a lot on cake lately – only had about $600 on there and planned to re-dep cos the bonus’ are kinda sick there – however i played 100hu underolled before needing to deposit and ran superbly and have now funded christmas wooo!

So other news got a tip from a stockbroking friend of mine r.e. a tasty little share investment oppurtunity – same guy gave me a tip earlier and i chose to ignore it and watch the shares 3x fuck my nitty life lol (incedently shortly after he sold the most of his shares it nearly tripled again !) still dont wanna miss out this time!

SO bought a bucket of these shares @1.26p and they immeadiatkly drop in price, so like a true degen gambler saw the oppurtunity to really get stuck into this! couldn’t make enough £££ together to really commit myself lol so make a quick call to the bank of jamie sykes and buy another few boatfulls lol NOSTRA TERRA OIL AND GAS 72p a share ONE TIME!!!

Not much else rele going on atm – been playing a bit live down at gala – still not faced naps again since a bit of a horror spell there! Genrally speaking live poker has been going terribly lol and that is extremely frustrating – played the other night down at gala and became the brunt of some pretty serious disprestpecting so decided to let poker leave the table and attempted to stack the chump AT ALL COSTS….this might have worked had I not decided to do this shortly before the deck hit him square in the face fml…got nuts vs 3nd nuts against this guy followed by a slowroll man was steeeeaaaaaaaaammmmmming!!! casinos are a suuuppper dangerous place to tilt aswel!

played one super cool live hand vs one particular moron! goes limp raise to £7 from chump i 3bet 33 to £24.50 and he calls – i elect to 3bet pretty wide in this game its so loose passive that opening tight and 3betting wide I find much more profitable. board comes 4 5 8 and he bets £25 I call….comes a 9 he bets £25 I call….comes another 9 he goes all in for about £120 i call. Upon calling the end a I rpoudly announce that i can beat AK i then get berated for about 10mins by selected live morons one of whom told me he’d been playing for 20yrs and played at binions with devilfish…sat there with £30 in front of him – man destroying someone in front of them is fun!!!

My thoughts behind this hand were this – i cbet every flop so sets never really donks the flop for value, not much of his range involves  4s 5s or 8s that arent sets so i peel one more. 9 on the turn and again not many 9s in his range that isnt 99 (probably the most likely hand tht i loose to is 99) 67 was there anywhere and i can never see him leading the flop with 67, so another 9 and he goes all in without really thinking….uuuummmm AK/AQ that you played like a spanner sir? “well I didnt think he’d be raising with any of that” he said so he clearly put me on a hand in a similar range to himself and elects to not 4bet pre and donk his entire stack in once he misses the flop! man i love live poker!

After my $13k upswing a few weeks ago, a little disgruntled I didn’t come 1st in any of those tournaments, it was back to the grind. Just the usual limits; $11, 26, 75 freeze outs, $3, 5, 8,10 and 22 rebuys with a few shots here and there.

I was quite happy here, grinding away, when I got a comment on my facebook from an old school friend who thought it appropriate to say: “Hey Jamie, just wondering, I see a lot of your statuses coming close to big scores, but no wins? Do you ever actually win any tournaments? Good to speak to you.” WTF!? WHAT A RIDIC RUBDOWN!? I was steaming. I’d made a decent chunk in the last 120 days, and get rubbed down for not winning anything. Well, it sent me on a bit of a tear. The day after this incident (Sunday) I came 1/236 in a $26 HORSE mtt, where I came back from being short 6 handed with no showdowns against some very passive players. Then last night I scooped the $20 rebuys on Full Tilt, whilst at the same time taking down an $8 PLO mtt.

P.S. Me and Ash Mason have a $150 prop bet on who can win the first ML 7-game mtt, with a limit of 20 attempts each, then a new bet will be made (to make it a fair test). Wish me luck!
