CLOSING LEAGUE OF THE 2008/09 SEASON
The Nutz 2008/09 Season comes to a close with the final quarter SUMMER LEAGUE running until Sept 13th.
As usual there is a prize of £200 cash and a 1oz Solid Silver engraved card guard to the League winner plus all the top 20 finishers earn chips towards the end of season £1k Guaranteed Championship Freeroll.

IAN HILTON WINS SPRING LEAGUE!
FINAL TOURNY VICTORY SEALS CLEAR WIN
2007 Nutz Champion Ian Hilton hit a rich vein of form in the final few weeks to take the Spring League by storm. He finished impressively with 2 wins and multiple cashes in the last 2 weeks, eventually taking the League by a clear 500+ points - the largest margin of victory yet.
Notably, current Champion Mick Connon finished 2nd in the final tourny to secure second place in the Spring League - the Champions obviously will not relinquish the Nutz title without a fight! Other notable performances came from a rapidly improving Peter Lee (3rd overall) and Steve Chandler and Stu Worsnop who made the top 20 with less than 10 tournies played.
The new Summer League starts on Tuesday 16th June, completing the 2008-09 Season on Sunday September 13th. Check out the Tournament Calendar for information on dates, times, game formats and structures - and all the results.

Tuesday has got 50% better! And 50% cheaper? How can that be? Well you've now got 3 chances instead of 2 and each buy-in is now only a tenner! Win, win! So you can choose, see how far £10 will get you ... or fish a bit early on ... or save it all for the end ... the choice is yours. After the second hour of play, antes kick in and the aim is to complete the tournament in a maximum 5 hours, by 1.00a.m. Yes, its a bit 'turbo' but its a lot of fun and our members are happy to be able to get up for work the next morning!

Our popular Friday tournament is returning to its old, straight £10 format. We hope this will encourage more new members to try the Nutz as a bargain night's entertainment - and will also encourage early knockouts to stay and enjoy themselves with more Sit N Go and ring games.
We look to use 'nominated dealers' on Friday nights - volunteer dealers will be treated to £2.50 OFF FOOD ORDERS (and guaranteed not to be moved until their table is broken) - please offer your services to the card room staff on the evening.

Sunday is DEEP STACK day at the Nutz. A 10,000 starting stack and 30 minute blinds on the opening levels ensure this is the strictest test of your poker skills and wits. There's plenty of play and a healthy prize spread for the winners. The tournament starts at 4.45pm, with late entry allowed up to 5.45pm - phone us for a seat if you are running late.

MONDAYS & WEDNESDAYS: PLAYERS' CHOICE NIGHT
FROM 5.00pm ~ 12.00am
Monday and Wednesday nights are Players Choice Nights. The format will be decided by the players on the night - it may tournament or ring game, it could even end up being Omaha, Horse or any variation of mixed games! We also encourage members to make some of these tournies 'qualifiers' - either to external events such as the Gala GBT, Grosvenor GUKPT or other tours, or for our own higher buy-in events - its up to you.

SUPER6 TEAM CHALLENGE ...
... WON BY 'GET IN ME WHEELBARRER'!
The second annual SUPER6 Team Challenge proved to be another great day of fun with 7 teams competing in an excellent atmosphere of banter and friendly rivalry. The defending champions RED EYE put up a spirited defense eventually finishing 3rd.
The winners, Captained by Jamie 'The Grouch' Sykes were Boosh inspired GET IN ME WHEELBARRER (Y'DIRTY VIXEN) who went to the final table 3rd in chips, ultimately overcoming a solid performance from THE VETS.
Congratulations to all who took part and entered into the Bank Holiday spirit ... we're all already looking forward to the next one!

GUKPT / DTD SATELLITES
'BIB' GOING TO GUKPT MANCHESTER
The pressure's now on for David 'Bib' Bielby who made it through a fine Satellite Final and a heads-up with 'Lil Dave' Nicholson to win the seat at Manchester's GUKPT Main Event. We all know Bib's broad shoulders are up to it .. good luck mate!
The series of Nutz qualifiers continues every week with the next Final Table Satellites sending at least one Nutz member to the Newcastle GUKPT in May and the runner-up to DTD's Monthly £50k GTD. Join in ... and take your shot at playing with the 'big boys'!

SUPERSTARS II
ENTRY OPEN - START POSTPONED
Registration remains open for SUPERSTARS II but the start has been postponed indefinitely until we get at least 16 entrants.
This is a higher stakes league format, played on Monday evenings over the course of a couple of months.
As before SUPERSTARS II is a £100 buyin (facilities fees waived) guaranteeing you at least 4 preliminary rounds of play and potentially a Play-Off and Final Table! It is good value fun for your money and there is potentially as much as a £1k prize or more up for grabs!
The league is limited to a maximum 36 players ... to book your seat follow the instructions in the Superstars section.
